Good morning BGSA,

     Please join us for the BGSA Winter General Meeting this Wednesday for some free pizza. We have a lot to discuss! Be aware that the EEL seminar time has changed! EELs now start serving free pizza at 11:30 am and talks are held from 12 – 1 pm. Also, note that you can join AGSEM’s bargaining meetings if you are interested. More details below for all. 

     Please be aware that as we wait for a BGSA website, we are hosting information and resources on the BGSA Slack Workspace. There, you can find who your representatives are and their contact info, the room booking calendar, the BGSAjiji sheet (for lease transfer, etc.), and more. Join to connect easily with your peers.

Announcements and Special Events

BGSA Winter General Assembly

The BGSA’s semesterly-ish general meeting is schedule for this Wednesday, February 14 from 4 – 5 pm in room Stewart South 3/3. Come to hear updates from BGSA reps, discuss amendments to our constitution (attached), and take care of other important business. Free vegan/meat pizza will be served. The current meeting agenda is attached.

AGSEM Bargaining

You might have heard that your TA union, AGSEM, is bargaining currently for a new contract!! Our demands include higher wages, healthcare benefits, and the indexation of TA numbers to class sizes. Our bargaining sessions with McGill are open to all AGSEM members - come along to see how McGill responds to our demands and show our strength in numbers. You can sign up to attend a session here!

Job Posting - QCBS

The Quebec Center for Biodiversity Science is looking for a student research assistant to work on the ambitious McGill's Biodiversity Plan 2030. The student will assist a research professional to collect and analyze existing biodiversity data from across McGill to assess the current biodiversity levels. See here for more details.
