Good morning BGSA,

     We have a few new BGSA reps following our Winter GA. See the pdf attached for the latest list of reps and their contact emails, or check out the "Our Team" page of the new BSGA website.

     Please note that Beer Hour, CEEB Journal Club, and the Population Genetics Book Club have new dates. Journal Club is now held on Tuesdays from 4 – 5:30 pm, which is right before Beer Hour, now held on Tuesdays at 5:30 pm. Both events are still in Thomson House. The Evolutionary Genetics Group has a new name: the Population Genetics Group. Meetings times/places are being decided on.  

     The new BGSA website is now live! Check it out at https://mcgillbgsa.wixsite.com/my-site-1. The website link will always be included in the footer of these newsletters and is on our Slack workspace. You can find our representatives, a marvelous calendar centralizing all our events, the merch store (coming soon), the room booking calendar, the BGSAjiji sheet (for lease transfer, etc.), and info about our special events like the Retreat and Department Day.

AGSEM Bargaining

You might have heard that your TA union, AGSEM, is bargaining currently for a new contract!! Our demands include higher wages, healthcare benefits, and the indexation of TA numbers to class sizes. Our bargaining sessions with McGill are open to all AGSEM members - come along to see how McGill responds to our demands and show our strength in numbers. You can sign up to attend a session here!
